The next morning Huell stopped for breakfast at Chuck's Hamburgers, a locals favorite for nearly half a century. Famous for their large portions, plate sized flap jacks and 50 cent coffee. Have a bite to eat Monday - Friday 6am - 5:30pm & Saturdays 6am - 5pm

From Chuck's we made a brief stop at the University of the Pacific for a look at one of California's oldest private colleges. Visitors should check in at Burns Tower.

The Haggin Museum, located in beautiful Victory Park, was stop number three. Museum Director Tod Ruhstaller shared the fine art collection, including the museum's Bierstadt collection, as well as the Holt tractor display. Our journey led us to Downtown Stockton were we took a Downtown Trolley to the Bob Hope Theatre. The beautiful organ played as Huell toured this wonderfully renovated historic Fox Theatre. Open Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

Next stop on the trolley - the historic Stockton hotel. The "Stockton" which opened in 1910, is home to the Sing Lee Laundry Exhibit, a display of Chinese community artifacts excavated during the downtown cinema construction. Please check in at the front office to view the lobby and exhibit. Open Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.

With a busy morning behind us we were ready for lunch! We walked from the hotel to a small--really small cafe called Bunny's "Hole in the Wall" Cafe were we enjoyed delicious fresh roasted turkey sandwiches. Visit the Hole in the Wall Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm & Saturdays 8:30am -Noon

After a great lunch, we headed west to the famous Pixie Woods
Children’s Playland.
Take a ride on the
merry-go-round, or board the Pixie Express Train traveling through Indian territory -- but be on the lookout for pirates! A family favorite for over 50 years. Open weekends in the Spring and Wednesday thru Sunday from June to September.

After our train ride in Pixieland, we were off to our final stop of the day, the Wat Dharmararam Buddhist Temple in east Stockton. There Huell discovered statues celebrating the life of the Cambodian Buddha. The mammoth statues ranging from 10 feet tall gem encrusted beautys to the lying Buddha which measures 50 feet in length.
The temple may be visited daily during daylight hours, year round. Free of charge, donations accepted.
